I'm angry. I am angry that in todays world we are faced with a crisis in the economy like we are seeing now. I am angry that the people who are paying the price, and will continue to pay the price in the future, are the middle class americans like myself. Well, let me rephrase that. I do not consider myself middle class even though my husband and myself both work. We are really lower middle class americans. We are the ones who are paying. And we are not the only ones. There are millions of people like ourselves who work 40 hours a week (or more) and struggle every week to make ends meet. Struggle to make ends meet and we both have jobs. There is something wrong with that picture. And now our president is telling us it is going to get worse. That's just great. But you know what really pisses me off? What really makes me angrier than anything is that the CEO's and the VP's of these financial lending institutions are going to receive severence pay and other bulls**t. Why reward them for leading Americans down this path? Keep the damn money and put it back into helping pay their mortgages so they can keep a roof over their heads. And while we are on that subject, why not just borrow money from people like Warren Buffet or Oprah Winfrey or some other rich celebrity? They don't seem to be feeling the financial crunch. Hell, most of them have 3 or 4 houses and upteen cars to their names. And then there are the wonderful professional athletes. Ah, yes. Getting paid millions to play a sport God gave them the talent to play. Surely they could get by with a reduction of salary? The people who pay to watch them play sure are, why can't they?
So, yes. I am angry. Very, very angry. The gap between those who are feeling the financial crunch and those who are living the life is huge. IT. MAKES.ME.VERY.VERY.ANGRY. We should move to Europe.
